September 2011 TBSC President's Message

Greetings,

The soccer season is now well underway, and I hope there will be many victories but there will also likely be some defeats. Both of these situations should be learning moments for the players with the assistance of parents. I'd like to encourage all of our participants to play to the best of their ability as well as display proper sportsmanship.

The club raffle is nearing its end and tickets will need to be returned along with the appropriate funds. One way to make it easier for the team parent organizing your team turn-in is to not remove the staple from the ticket booklets and checks are much easier to deal with than cash. When my daughter finished selling her tickets I simply wrote a check to TBSC for the entire amount of the tickets sold.

Team photo times are now set, please check the club web page for the time for your team and pre-ordering information. Picture packages can be ordered on-line before Friday and if needed paper order forms will be available on site the day of the pictures. Even if you do not want to purchase photographs I would encourage all players to be there for the team picture. Teams if you are unable to make this time/date a make-up session can be arranged, coaches please contact Dona DeGroat our equipment manager to schedule.

The soccer club will be holding a General Membership meeting on Tuesday 27-Sept at 7pm at the new Brier Fire Station 18, at 21206 Poplar Way Brier WA 98036. Along with club business one of the main purposes of this meeting is to recruit potential Board members. In the past few years we have had Board members leave and have not been able to find replacements, which has many Board members now performing multiple duties. In order to keep the club functioning and providing the lowest cost soccer in our area we need volunteers. Please consider serving on the Board.
